Yao Guo , Ph.D

Professor

School of Computer Science 

Yao Guo is a full professor in the Institute of Software of the School of Computer Science at Peking University. He has served as Vice Dean of the School of Computer Science since 2022. His general research interests include operating systems, mobile computing and applications, software security and software engineering. 

He received his PhD in Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2007. His PhD advisor is Professor Csaba Andras Moritz. Previously, he got his BS and MS degrees, both in Computer Science, from Peking University in 1997 and 2000 respectively.

He is a member of ACM and IEEE, and a senior member of CCF.

Recent Research Projects (Full publication list)

• Future/Ubiquitous Operating Systems: design and optimization of new types of ubiquitous operating systems (UOS), including operating systems for mobile and embedded systems, WebAssembly, industrial IoT systems, intelligent robots, etc.
• Software & System Security: static and dynamic analysis techniques to improve software and system security, including symoblic execution, provenance analysis, privacy protection, etc.
• Systems & AI: the interaction between system and AI techniques such as deep learning and federated learning, including practical federated learning systems for mobile/web scenarios, deep learning model security and privacy analysis, etc.
